What I Wore: Feminine in Florals

Virtually anything sounds better than throwing on a jacket in the middle of the summer; however, I can never resist a statement jacket. Whether you opt for a funky print or innovative silhouette, this coveted piece is the ultimate way to have that "Sartorialist" moment you've been secretly dreaming of since forever. While a high-octane coat is fuss-free, you won't create a show-stopping outfit if you merely pair it with some leggings and a tee (unless you're going to the gym, that is). With some funky accessories and a monochromatic color palette, your statement coat will become one piece of this chic puzzle.

Recently. I've been filling my wardrobe with blues: a few too many chambrays, printed jeans, striped button-downs and this fantastic floral jacket. Though pairing this piece with a white tee would be effortlessly chic, it's the easy way out. On the other hand, this denim-infused alternative is easy on the eyes and still brings something new to the table.

Coat: Topshop. Chambray: Madewell. Jeans: Rag & Bone. Booties: Madewell. Necklace:  Bobbles & Lace.

Not willing to sport a coat during this scorcher? Save it for the fall! Just don't forget to accessorize. After all, you're always dying to sport a cute hat or scarf.

xx
