Ayo I'm Tired of Using Technology

In the midst of frantically studying for midterms, I have been keeping up with my fashion news. Fashion week in Paris?! Loving it so far! But that needs its own post. But this one article made me so upset. If you don't want to read it all, basically technology is taking over fashion. IT'S NOT FAIR. I just think it's really upsetting how a video could even be the slightest alternative to a runway. Never...

I will admit that this gives the show a very artistic perspective and it is cool, but one of the most crucial aspects of a fashion show, in my personal opinion, is to see the clothes live and breathe. It's kind of like when you see a celebrity in a movie versus seeing a celebrity in person. For example, seeing Michael Buble's music videos is much different, and inferior, to seeing him in person...

Get the picture? PUNNY

Not like I've ever been to fashion show (...), but seeing those pieces of art in person allow us to know that they're real. And also, the Gareth Pugh video seemed to place a lot of emphasis on the multiple models, and camera angles. While a fashion show has many other components, there's only one crucial aspect: the FASHION.

I should be going to bed now, but I just thought I would make it clear that I'm NOT a fan of this new form. TOO MUCH MEDIA CONVERGENCE (there I go, applying what I learn in COM 101 to my blog).

I should also mention that my dorm had a fire drill at 12:45 AM a few nights ago...I was so upset, I wore my faux fur vest with my pajamas. I thought it was a fire drill must!

ONE OF MY FAVES FROM THE SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE! It's so eclectic and random but it just proves that fabulousity (and fur) is key AT ALL TIMES.

In Suit of Classy.

First of all, Happy Fourth of July! I hope that everyone- from readers to non-readers- have a wonderfully safe holiday. Now to business. So last night, my wonderful boyfriend took me to see my husband in concert: Michael Buble. I believe I have briefly mentioned my love for him before...and I do love me some Buble! He sings with such emotion, has great charisma, and rocks a nice suit. Which brings me to my overall theme for this blog: Michael Buble and his suits. In his everyday life, Buble dresses rather casually. But, when performing, he pulls out the big stocks: it is rumored that he sometimes dresses in Armani. I just love when he wears suits to his concerts, public appearances, etc: he really brings back the old crooner. As I sat in the arena (Mohegan Sun...don't even get me started on how cool that place is), I noticed that approximately ninety percent of my fellow Buble lovers had walkers and motorized scooters. I'm such an old lady on the inside. Buuuuut I realized that these old people grew up with crooners and class. And even though it may be old school and slightly embarrassing on my part, what's so wrong with liking class? Most people, performers or not, dress to please. They dress "trendy" or "hipster" or any other kind of way to get attention from the masses. Since when is it so cool to please the norm? Although we all love to be current and relevant with our fashion, sometimes it's not a bad thing to go back in time, where class and simple suits prevailed.

My Future Husband

The first thing people should know about me is that I'm a planner. This past October, I went through a phase where I liked to plan my wedding. I hate waiting and I just wish everything happened NOW. So it's only appropriate that I have a plan for my future husband. This will weave into fashion...I swear. As many of my friends do know, I have him all picked out: he's Michael Buble. So what he's a successful crooner? So what he's older? So what he casts his super-model fiance to be in the music video to my favorite Buble song? It just means that I have...no chance. But no worries, I have a back-up. As the first runner up for my future husband, I pick Tom from 500 Days of Summer. If you haven't seen it...rent it...NOW, because you'll understand me. HOW CAN YOU NOT FALL IN LOVE? What I find most important about this character is...his style (here's the tie in OBVI). He's so "All-American" but trendy. A prepster, like a J.Crew model, but he's cool enough to pull off the manchel (man satchel...eh?eh?). So many guys now a days put either no effort into their outfits or dress really ghetto-fabulous. Dress how you want, I'm just saying this is my all time favorite way. It's traditional yet contemporary. Fabulous. Timeless. And SO ADORABLE. I have one friend (ONE) who dresses like this but I secretly wish all boys dressed like "Tom"...marriage rates, I asure you would go through the roof! xx
