The Worst of 2012

They say that when it seems too good to be true, it probably is. This year prompted some pivotal fashion moments, but it also produced a slew of cringeworthy looks. Whip out the tissues, ladies and gents: here comes the worst of the worst. To ease the pain, I've decided to express my feelings through superlatives.

Most Ironic

Lena Dunham at the Emmy Awards:  I jut think it's really funny how she's so naked on Girls, yet she decides to borrow her grandmother's frock for the Emmys. Wait...that's Prada? Now I'm confused.(Photo)

Worst Pregnancy Outfit

Claire Danes at the Emmy Awards: Usually an angel on the red carpet, Danes' sunny number was a big disappointment. First of all, the silhouette is not flaunting her pregnancy curves. On the contrary, it looks like she ate an extra helping of pasta (and not in a good way). Not to mention the dress' blousing is as sloppy as Carrie Matheson's mental state. Maybe next year. (Photo)

Though completely sequined gowns sound lovely in theory, they're a nightmare in real life. Not to mention unflattering. Fergie at the Grammy Awards: There's a fine line between thought-provoking and trashy. Fergie crossed that line. And then some. Though Jean Paul Gaultier paired black underwear with this dress for the runway, it's an uncomfortable combination in real life. But the pain doesn't stop there: Fergie thinks it's a great idea to overdose on chunky jewelry. Please, make it stop! (Photo)

Worst Copycat 

Emma Stone at the Academy Awards: Remember how I said that Stone can pull off several different looks? Well this is not one of them. First of all, this is just too much red to handle. Secondly, Stone is clearly trying too hard. Instead of reliving Nicole Kidman's red carpet fame, this A-Lister should just be herself! (Photo)

The Worst Ever

Cyndi Lauper at the American Music Awards: It's been a few months, and I still have no idea how to properly react to this ensemble. While I understand  that Lauper has "rockstar" status, I don't think that gives her an excuse to forgo a nice pair of pants. Especially when she's that old. And what's with plaid sash-- is it even a sash? All I know is that this outfit makes me sad. (Photo)

The Style Files: Boy You Never Had Much Game

As much as I love teeny pop beats, I really do hate this song. Also, those grunts are pretty scary. However, I must admit this jam is trendy. Do me a favor: listen to this song and let me know if you can get it of your head. I personally cannot. Give me  a week and I'll probably be addicted.

Style Spiration: Jackie O

This weekend, I fostered a mild obsession for the Kennedy family. Not only was Jackie O a strong individual, but everyone is enamored with her style. To put it bluntly, she paved the way for 60's style. It's about time I give her the praise she deserves, don't you think? 

I'm obsessed with the monochromatic jacket and pants. So chic and still relevant! (Photo Cred)

Our girl knew how to accessorize. The camel wrap jacket acts as the perfect base for all these wonderful add-ons. Logistically, she's sporting a lot of accessories; however, they are not over-whelming because she keeps it all in the same color family. Ergo, the jewel-tone earrings are the perfect burst of color. (Photo Cred)

Perfection. The tailoring is genius, the gloves and pearls exude a regal touch, and that bow gives this ensemble a dash of femininity without looking like a doll. (Photo Cred)

I love when people wear leopard. This goes beyond the fact that I too enjoy a nice ferocious print. In my mind, people wear leopard to get noticed: they're confident and aren't afraid of criticism. Sometimes leopard can look a little...trashy. But leave it to Jackie to give us something fiercely polished.(Photo Cred)

The Weekly

• Dakota Fanning at the American Film Institute (Gucci): Remember when Dakota Fanning was only 8 years old? You know, when she starred alongside Brittany Murphy in Uptown Girls. It's crazy to think that this former child star is just as relevant, not to mention super stylish, today. Everything about coral number is perfect: the subtle two-tone combination, the classic silhouette, the punchy black belt, and the modest V-neck work to create a cohesive look. This ensemble marks a perfect transition from Fanning's childhood style to a mature future. The simple accessories, hair, and makeup subdue the shocking coral.
• Zoe Saldana at the CFDA Awards (Prabal Gurung): Let's be honest: anything that brings Zoe Saldana and Prabal Gurung together is automatically deemed brilliant. The super sleek hair as well as the "notice me" sheer accents create a sultry chic ensemble. Additionally, I can never resist a long-sleeved dress!
• Fergie at the amFAR Inspiration Gala (Calvin Klein Collection): Do you remember that last time we saw Fergie look this classy? I sure don't! From her old Hollywood ringlets to the way her stylist assembled the black, proliferated dress, Fergie looks like a class act. Fergie finishes off this look with demure pumps and effortless makeup. Though she's dressing for the event, Fergie is looking more modest than usual. I must say it works for her!

The 2012 Grammys

I just have one thing to say in regards to the 2012 Grammy Awards:

ADELE

I'm so incredibly happy that she won SIX- count 'em ,SIX- awards. She's such a musical gem and I couldn't be happier. But Bruno Mars' performance was also super cute: 

Surprisingly enough, I was so please with most of the looks from this red carpet. Sure, there were some mishaps; however, most starlets were looking chic and funky.

THE WORST 

• Nicki Minaj (Versace): You know  you crossed the line when Lady Gaga's dressed more sane that you are. Nicki, my dear: what were you thinking? This is so offensive and her skit was really disturbing. Usually, I like twisted things- like my  crime dramas-but this went a little too far. Calm Roman down, Sweetheart! 
• Katy Perry (Elie Saab): I'm so disappointed. Elie Saab's couture collection was so phenomenal; however, this dress was ruined by Katy Perry's makeup. Maybe I'm crazy, but blue hair,  a magenta lip, and orange skin just doesn't work with Elie Saab. This is dreadful.
• Anne Vyalitsyna (Undetermined): Can we say trashy? It looks like her dress was caught in the limo door. Seriously, I don't care how fabulous  your body is: this is just inappropriate. That's all. 
• Fergie (Jean Paul Gaultier): I love the concept of this Jean Paul  Gaultier couture dress; however, black undies? Wrong. Black undergarments may have been okay for the runway, that's just wrong on the red carpet. She should've either worn nude undergarments or lined the dress. This is just trashy.

THE BEST 

• Adele (Armani): If you haven't realized how much I love Adele, there's an issue. I cannot get over how adorable she is and this outfit is to die for. I love a long sleeve and this three quarters length is both sophisticated and sexy, especially with the length of the dress. The simplistic silhouette is super flattering and I love the dose of sparkle. Also, the shorter hair and red lip? Not getting over this anytime soon. 
• Carrie Underwood (Gomez-Garcia): My favorite Carrie Underwood look ever, hands down. Not only is this dress super detailled, but the sexy back? Forget about it! The crisp white is phenomenal with the super glam hair. Also, the minimal jewels is perfect for this: all she needs is a stunning pair of earrings. 
• Paris Hilton (Basil Soda): Okay, the days of "That's Hot" may be long gone; however, this is definitely Paris Hilton's fashion peak. This Basil Soda dress is incredible on her and makes her look- dare I say it- chic. I love the gold and white combination and the print is strategically placed.  Although the belt is arbitrarily placed -lower done would've been better- I love how it makes this dress funkier. Her understated hair and makeup is the perfect way to finish this outfit. 
• Bruno Mars (Thom Browne): I go crazy for Bruno's retro style. From his pants' hem, to his funky hair, to his amazing sunglasses, Bruno always makes me swoon. What's so awesome about his style is that he has his own vision and always sticks to it. 
• John Legend and Chrissy Teigen (Undetermined): Can we say best looking couple of the night (although my roommate and him would be a much better couple, just saying)?  He looks incredible with that skinny tie and Chrissy's dress is too amazing for words.  Long sleeves and a high slit? The perfect mix of sexuality and sophistication. 
• Jessie J (Julien Macdonald): Honestly, this is the perfect dress for the Grammys. The mirrored effect? The killer silhouette?  The strong ponytail? Rocker chic done so right. The black jewels are so perfect: they make this look complete without crossing the line and making her look too metallic. I don't even like Jessie J that much; however, this look is so divine. 
• Rihanna (Armani): I found fashion love in a hopeless place a.k.a. the Grammys. This Rihanna-Armani collaboration is so sexy. The plunging neck is perfectly paired with the dainty necklaces. And that high silt? Out of this world. What makes this dress sophisticated is her minimal makeup and fun hair. Just because Chris Brown performed at the Grammys doesn't mean Rihanna has to play victim; instead, she showed him that she's the best thing he never had.
• Taylor Swift (Zuhair Murad):Okay, Taylor Swift fans, don't get too excited: this is probably the only time that I'll compliment her. I'm sorry, but she really bothers me and her performance was too awkward. Aywho, this Zuhair Murad dress is STUNNING.  She is tall and lanky enough to make this dress look sophisticated. The golds do work lovely with her blonde hair. Also, that high bun is the perfect way to make this look clean and sophisticated. Now her performance look? That's a different story...
• Alicia Keys (Alexandre Vauthier): Two words: perfectly styled. Keys truly knows how to turn a LBD into something spectacular. Those mary jane-inspired shoes plus that beyond fierce necklace plus that super edgy hair? AMAZING. If she had worn a more complex dress, all of that would've been too much; however, all of these elements purely spice up the look. Fabulous.
• Corinne Bailey Rae (Christian Siriano): Is it weird that I kind of like this look? The dress is so quirky and Christian Siriano-esque. While it may be a little too pouffy, isn't the Grammys the perfect time for quirky pieces? Her hair is so sick and I love that lip. Fabulous. 
• Kelly Osbourne (Tony Ward): Take note: this is how to do the awkward gray hair trend correctly. This Tony Ward dress is super edgy and youthful, which counteracts her matronly hair. Overall, I love the way this dress looks on her: the silhouette is very flattering  and I love the draping. Sometimes, sequined dresses can appear rather...stiff. This dress, on the other hand, has so much movement. 
• Adam Levine (Undetermined): I love how Adam spiced the typical suit up with color and stripes. Also, he's so sexy, how could I not include him?

The Style Files: I'm Tired of Seein' the Days Goin' by, Tearin' the Numbers Off My Wall

So you know when you randomly find a band and you really like them? Yeah, that happened to me this week. To quickly sum it up, The Lemonheads are awesome: very chill music.

STYLE SPIRATION: Sarah Hyland

Do you guys remember that whole Sarah Hyland slash Lea Michele debacle on Fashion Police? Well I do and let me just  say that I'm so team Sarah. Not only is she super funny, but Hyland is a fabulous fashionista herself. So this week's style-spiration is dedicated to Sarah Hyland.

At the Latest Harry Potter Movie Premiere (Paule Ka): Gorgeous! The all-black ensemble is super chic and the metallic clutch adds the perfect "wow" factor. The fun ponytail perfectly contrasts Hyland's smoky eye. Obsessed. 

At the 2011 SAG Awards (Max Mara Elegante): This look is super youthful and laid back, which I love. The casual waves, mixed with the draping of the orange dress, is supreme. Keeping the makeup fresh, as well as having minimal jewels, is perfection. (Photo Cred)

At the Glee 3D Premiere (Nuj Novakhett): I'm obsessed with this look! Usually, I get skeptical when I see a cut-out dress;however, this look incredible on her. The dress is gorgeous and the light shoes and clutch makes this look summery. The natural makeup and braid gives this look a youthful twist.

THE WEEKLY

• Gaga at the Gaga Pop-Up Store in Barneys (Chanel): This so extravagant-almost too extravagant- but I love it. In my mind, this is the perfect mix of Jackie O and Lady Gaga. The contrast between black and white is so classic. Also, I'm so smitten with her use of accessories. The red lip:  need I say more?  I love how she can be her crazy self without pushing the envelope too far.
• Fergie at the Black Eyed Peas Experience Launch Party (Jen Kao skirt and an Ellery jacket): I'm not obsessed with this look; however, I think it was styled very well.  The textured skirt and the tribal-inspired earrings are perfectly styled with the black ensemble. The sleek ponytail and the strong blazer adds a dash of sexy.

TCA 2011: A Mid-Summer's Nightmare

First of all,  I'm very sorry this is a day late. Monday was my birthday-  oh I'm so old- so I was too busy doing some birthday-related activities!  Although I love the summer, this season does leave me missing the red carpet reviews of the winter time. I was so happy to hear the Teen Choice Awards were quickly approaching. As my last year of teen-dom, I figured that the looks would be stellar. I was pretty wrong. Obviously, the Teen Choice Awards are no Oscars; however, where were the cool maxis and summertime glamour that I always crave?  I missed the Teeen awards because I went to go see the new apes movie, but here's a fun clip that I found on YouTube:

THE WORST: 

• Ashley Greene (Givenchy): This is massively disappointing. While I do love my Givenchy, I think this was styled in the most boring way possible. The stick straight hair and the lines of the dress give this look absolutely no movement. And the strappy heels? Way too chunky and off-balanced for this look. A colored, or even nude, pump would make this outfit a million times better. And the diamond bracelet? Where did this come from? I thought this was supposed to be a super sleek look- this is too mis-matched. I've seen better looks.
• Tyra Banks (Thierry Mugler): I think this outfit speaks for itself but, in the event you're not seeing it the same way I am,  here it goes: while this may be cool for the runway, I despise this as a red carpet look. It's way too sexual for the teen awards. Sure, her body looks fine; however, I'm not okay with this look in the slightest. Bad, Tyra, Bad!
• Cory Monteith (John Varvatos): I'm going to make think simple: his tight pants make me uncomfortable. 
• Zooey Deschanel (Miu Miu): I see Zooey's bringing the old lady to the Teen Choice Awards. I love Miu Miu but this dress, just not for this youthful event. Also the black clutch and pumps? Way too matchy matchy! Also, that heel just looks whimpy. I dont' know how she could improve this look, but she's cooler than this.
• Rebecca Black (I-don't-wanna know): Look, I know Rebecca Black isn't a budding fashionista; however, shouldn't you live it up and wear haute couture during your fifteen minutes of fame? The color looked nice on her, but it was the farthest thing from flattering. I guess putting her on the worst dressed list is also an attack on her popularity: I really hate that song.
• Gillian Jacobs (I-don't-wanna-know-either): THIS IS SO WRONG! I get really upset when people mix silver and gold in such a nonchalant way. The gold of her black dress is such a statement aspect and the silver in her chunky shoes...too much! Also, why would you pair an elegant dress with such chunky shoes?! THE WORST. Her hair is fine; however, her makeup is totally boring. She just looks so blah and so mismatched.
• Emma Stone (Dior Resort): Biggest disappointment. While I love her hair and makeup, WHAT IS THIS DRESS! It's so sloppy and not even chic: it's so messy! Her legs also look way too pale and as if she's wearing tights! This is just wrong all over the place and I wish it would stop.
• AnnaSophia Robb (Malandrino): Is this a joke? The shoes are insanely frumpy and that dress? So awkward! The length, the sad print, the matronly hair- AWKWARD.  And wasn't the last thing she was in The Bridge to Terabithia? 
• Grace Phipps (Something Tragic): I feel bad because her team obviously doesn't like her enough to make her look chic. That awkward pageant-esque aspect on her dress is the worst. It's like trying to make a normal American Apparel dress chic. FAIL. And those shoes? This isn't even edgy, just tragic. Why don't these people learn?
• Lucy Hale (Cengiz Abazoglu): Too much skin. She just looks like a major slut. But the shoes are really sick! But on the real, have some class please. 

THE BEST:

• Taylor Lautner (AllSaints): This is the perfect male movie star look. The awesome bomber is so chic and fashion forward; however, the jeans keep it casual and allow his true hotness to radiate. And, since this is the Teen's Choice Awards, nobody really expects him to rock a full-on suit. So this is the perfect way to look chic and effortless. Bravo!
• Fergie (Dolce and Gabbana): Although her roots do look a little funky, I truly love this dress. I think it's the perfect mini that's super fun, fashion forward, and shows off the body in a sultry way. Also, I always think of bumble bees whenever I see black and yellow so I love anything that makes black and yellow cool! Since the dress is so poppin', I'm glad she kept the jewels, shoes, and clutch on a minimal level. Some may hate it; however, I love it! 
• Zoe Saldana (Lanvin): Ultimate j'adore. I love the midi hem of this dress: so classy, yet the metallic color makes this Lanvin gown youthful and fun! While I would normally hate the belt, it keeps this look casual, as well as the minimal jewels. And the gold shoes give this dress an extra pop! She's so beautiful and always dresses like a stunner!
• Selena Gomez (Erin Fetherson): Ugh, she always gets this so right. The asymmetry is so awesome and minimal-izing the jewels is the perfect match to that fabulous sash. I love how she always makes fashion so much fun! The long hair makes this look youthful and the hot pink clutch? Phenomenal! I also love how her shoes give a punch of fun! While I love a fun bag, what happens to the look when you're not carrying the bag? Hence, this look is right on!
• Nina Dobrev (Dolce and Gabbana): I like this look because it's so simple, clean, yet fun. While I'm not a fan of the black pump, I think it makes this look a little more grounded as opposed to a lighter shoe. Since the checkers are so small, Dobrev, avoids looking like a modern Dorothy, which is lovely. The stacked bracelets makes this look even more youthful and I love the high ponytail! Classy, yet refreshing: major love!

Creme de la Creme

 HAPPY MET-BALL-MONDAY! 

In my opinion, this is the biggest and chicest holiday in the fashion world! I love watching the ingenuity and innovation that struts down the red carpet. In my mind, the crazy- well, within reason- is chic: Andre Leon Talley's get-ups here make me laugh rather than cringe.  And I'm super stoked to see the "Savage Beauty" exhibit when I head back to New York next week. I hope that one day, I will either be styling a celebrity for the Met Ball or be at it myself. But for now, I'll sit in my dorm room and examine all of the chic looks. There are barely any looks I don't love at the red carpet gala.  Usually, my worst dressed picks are just things I don't think are creative enough for the MET BALL!So here are the best and worst looks! 

First, THE WORST

• NAOMI CAMPBELL (ALEXANDER McQUEEN): Ugh, I hate this so much. I understand Campbell and McQueen were friends, so why don't you honor him by wearing one of his more awesome looks? The accessories were good, but I just really don't love the dress. As much as creativity is key for this event, this dress almost looks destroyed. Just not a fan.

• GWYNETH  PALTROW (STELLA McCARTNEY): As much as I love the sparkles that are embedded in this McCartney dress, minimalism is so not the way to go for the Met Ball. Although she looks gorgeous, it's just not event-appropriate.
• JENNY FROM THE BLOCK GUCCI): This dress definitely had potential for the Met Ball, but it could've been styled better. I understand how her stylist tried to create a juxtaposition between the details on her shoulders and the sleekness of her hair, but she looks basically bald. I think this look would've been better if she did her hair differently. Besides, the neckline simply had way too much going on,  and not enough going on in the skirt of the dress. All in all, it just wasn't balanced. And I wish Jenny from the Block added some more color besides fuchsia: yes it's a beautiful color but it's way too much for this avant garde dress, clutch, and lip color.
• KATE HUDSON (STELLA McCARTNEY): Biggest upset of the night. I'm equally obsessed with Kate Hudson (celebrity) and Rachel Zoe (her stylist), so I always think of them as a "power team." Unfortunately, tonight was not the case. I know it must be hard to style a pregnant woman for the Met Ball, but this is just a train-wreck. She looks like an absolute mess!  The silk is not flattering on her pregnant figure and makes her look bigger if anything else. Though the jewel in her hair is interesting, I think the glamour of this McCartney and the wavy hair does not create a striking contrast; it just looks poorly- styled.  I'm so disappointed.

• MICHELLE WILLIAMS (MIU MIU): Ugh why is she always so miserably looking and wears uber casual things. This is the Met Ball. I'm not saying everyone has to incorporate LED  lights into their look, but do something to excite us fashion slaves. COME ON.
• LEA MICHELE (ESCADA): Same goes to you. Seriously, she always knocks it out of the park at red carpet events. She  looks fabulous; however, wore something a million times chicer and more innovative at the Golden Globes this year.

Moving on... now, THE BEST.

• BLAKE LIVELY (CHANEL): If this was any other event, I would seriously hate this. But it's the Met Ball!  Her soft hair, the draping of the dress, and the brocade on the side create a super chic and super modern Grecian look. I think this mix of neutrality and sparkles is a fun juxtaposition of fabrics. As always, Blake knows how to dress for every occasion. 
• BEYONCE (PUCCI): Even though McQueen didn't design this look, Beyonce look so appropriate for this event. The sex appeal of this dress and Byzantine inspiration was so innovative and super McQueen. She looked amazing and I'm glad that she kept the hair, makeup, and jewels to a minimum: this is one of the very few events were the focus is on the fashion instead of the celebrities.  She looked flawless.
• GISELE BUNDCHEN (McQUEEN): Absolutely stunning. The craftmanship  on this dress is so regal. I love how this gown is rather understated but the drama of the train makes it Met Ball worthy.  The diamond bracelet and earrings make her look like a fashion "It-Girl." And look, she even paired it with a McQueen clutch!
• DAPHNE GUINNESS (MCQUEEN): The epitome of Met Ball fabulousity. This is so avant garde, so McQueen, and so fashion forward- I'm obsessed.  Of course, if this was on Helena Bonham Carter, at a major red carpet event, we'd think this was bizarre.  But that's what people need to realize about this gala. This is what the Met Ball is all about: wearing art, not just dresses.And that's what i think The grey pumps make this look absolutely classic. I'm such a fan.

• ASHLEY GREENE (DONNA KARAN): Flawless, this whole look is so old school glamour. It's styled perfectly and, although it's not the most creative dress, I can't help but loving it.
• DIANE KRUGER (JASON WU): Yippee! I knew Kruger would pull through for this event! She looks incredible in Jason Wu, and I'm so jealous she got to go with him to the ball- she's just like Cinderella! It's so sexy, but retro at the same time. The silt in the black skirt as well as the quasi-transparent bodice of the dress is super sultry; however, the bright red lip and retro curls make a creative mix and adds innovation! I'm also glad she didn't chose a chunky heel or something artistic for footwear, it would've made the outfit way too unbalanced.  She's such a style icon and I'm so smitten.

• MIA WASIKOWSKA (SOMEONE-PLEASE-LET-ME-KNOW-WHO-DESIGNED-THIS): I think Audrey Hepburn was looking down on this event thinking, "Damn, I wish I could wear that." This dress is the epitome of a modern day Audrey Hepburn look: the hemline, the classically innovative silhouette, the  fun spin on a LBD. Though I think a red lip, and maybe on diamond bracelet would've completed this look, I love how she keeps the look simple so everyone will see how awesome this dress is. 
• FERGIE (MARCHESA): I love how Fergie went for this ethereal glamour. It's so unexpected for Fergie; however, she looks absolutely stunning in this Marchesa. I'm obsessed with this mix of tulle and vines makes this look attainable and not so scattered. And I loved the golden makeup and the hippie headband: the perfect touch! 
• EMMA STONE (LANVIN): Honestly, who wears florals to the Met Ball? Emma Stone does and she looked absolutely ravishing! Though these large florals can look a bit matronly, Stone dressed it up with a bright pink lip, eclectic dangle earrings,  and a messy updo. She looks like an old school Hollywood starlet with a modern streak. 
• EVA MENDES (STELLA McCARTNEY): I'm obsessed with this look: she's really rocking the emerging 70's inspired trend. I love this bright blue against her tan skin, she looks super fresh!  The asymmetrical shoulders as well as the fun sleeves. And the gold accessories make this look to-die-for-glam.  Stunning! 
• PENELOPE CRUZ (OSCAR DE LA RENTA): While I wish she completed this look with a metallic clutch, Cruz always looks insanely fabulous. Her in this Oscar de la Renta number is so exciting! Even though it's black, the camera truly picks up all of the fabulous details in this dress.  The soft waves and delicate jewels work extremely well with this feminine silhouette. Oh , and I'm in love with the train! 
• DIANNA AGRON (MICHAEL KORS): Although this might be deemed "too normal for the Met Ball," I really do love how Dianna took a fashion risk of her own. Usually, we see her in beautiful Carolina Herrera gowns while rocking an uber feminine look; however, she looks so sleek and modern here. The haltered top is casual but, paired with a sleek pony and a gold cuff, looks fierce. Usually, I hate red on red carpets, but the cut is simple enough and Agron didn't overplay her red-hot look. Many tend to match a red dress with red lips but, while that makes sense, I think it's way too much red!  Dianna kept it smart while rocking light makeup. Bravo! 

THAT WAS SO MANY LOOKS! Seriously, my "Best Dressed" list was much longer, but I had to cut it off somewhere. But that was great fun!

The Anti-Weekly: Fashion's Important Right?

I am creating my first Anti-Weekly post! The looks this week were...well...not very great, so I figure I'll talk  about the bad looks instead.

But before that,

let us discuss good men's fashion. 

It is very rare to find a male friend who takes pride in what he wears.  My collegiate friend, Ramsey, has one of the best male styles I have seen, competing against Joseph Gordon Levitt's 500 Days of Summer look. I think what I admire most about Ramsey's style, which is the focus of this blog post, is his ability to mix up his style. As I'm raiding his closet taking pictures, he is cutting a skeleton out of a sweatshirt, yet Sperry Topsiders are to my left. Ironic much? Yes, that's what we all need in our wardrobes, especially men. A lot of the time, I think guys are intimidated to wear cool clothing in fear that they'll look stupid or be made fun of. But here's something a lot of people forget about:

Good style=confidence=an fabulous quality in anybody.

Of  course we all have our personal preferences and that's okay, but I think we all need to be a little bit more open to trying new things. I guess this whole inspirational talk is contradicting my Anti-Weekly idea.  But if we have good confidence, along with a good eye, even the most atypical looks will be chic.

Well that was good fun, and now onto the ANTI-WEEKLY.

• Michelle Monaghan at the Source Code premiere in New York (Roksanda Ilincic): The color is really nice with her complexion and I actually really like the Chrissie Morris heels, but this dress is extremely unattractive. Honestly, it looks like a loosely draped piece of Spandex. And the asymmetrical hemline is not doing it for me. AND THE MINIMALISM. BLEGH. 
• Anna Kendrick at the Vivienne Westwood L.A  Store Opening (Vivienne Westwood): I didn't know that Anna Kendrick is a grandmother! This is a truly terrible look. The shoulders look very sloppy and the print reminds me of something a grandmother would own, but worse. The The cut is so matronly, it almost is painful to look at.  Maybe a different hemline would've made this dress a smidge better.  And the accessorizing is totally off on this. She should've at least had some fun jewels to make this look semi-hip. And the Miu Miu shoes? Make this outfit look even MORE matronly! 
• Katie Holmes at The Kennedys Premiere (Ralph Lauren): If she was going out for a lovely picnic with Suri Cruise, this would have been presh. But she's not, so it's not. WAY TOO CASUAL. I'm sorry  but when you're Jackie O in a movie,  you should be dressing with a little more style.  I'm so disappointed because I think of Katie Holmes as a modern day style queen. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT.
• Fergie at "The Bank" in Vega (Herve Leger by Max Azria):  There are so many things wrong with this situation. First and most obvious, those turquoise shoes are not very classy with the fleshy orange dress: it's a cool color combination for the Atlantis resort, but not for Fergie. Just kidding...well not really because I do hate that combination...BUT FERGIE PLEASE COVER UP. I'm all for being comfortable with your body, but this is taking it a bit too literally. This isn't appropriate, even whilst in Vegas! 
• Debi Mazar at the 2011 Beautiful People Party (I don't even WANT to know): This is not beautiful, this is just ugly. I can kind of see this whole retro look she's going for but even still, the red and white combination makes her look like a candy striper, which I'm not a fan of. I totally understand that she's not going to wear a Herve Leger body-con dress, but there are other ways to dress for your age, flatter your figure, and use the pinup inspiration: maybe a mid-calf full skirted dress? That would look awesome with the hair and makeup. 

Okay, doing an Anti-Weekly is a little too much fun...
