The 2013 Video Music Awards

Sunday night's Video Music Awards was both good and bad. There was Justin Timberlake's beyond epic performance and Miley Cyrus's musical train wreck. Sartorially speaking, there were definitely some highs and lows. Check out my nominees for  best and worst dressed at the 2013 VMAs.

The Worst.

DJ Cassidy: Gatsby meets old time gangster, this ensemble is not that terrible; however, it's just terrifying. Pastels and sketchy scruff? No thank you.

Sarah Hyland in Marchesa: Though the Modern Family starlet is usually one of my favorite actresses on the red carpet, this look is a major disappointment. The atypical ruffles are sloppy, not to mention they create a silhouette that is anything but flattering. The curls locks add to the flamenco-inspired outfit, which makes this outfit feel more like a costume.

Deborah Norville: Though fashionista is not on the power woman's growing resume, this number is a little too "soccer mom" for the red carpet. Also, what's up with all the accessories? Everyone should really adhere to Coco Chanel's rule about taking one thing off before leaving the house.

Miley Cyrus in Dolce & Gabbana:  This look is a lot better than the get-up she sported during her raunchy performance, but that doesn't mean this Dolce & Gabbana number is good. Instead, she looks like a slutty member of a mariachi band. Without the jeweled embellishments, this ensemble would've been effortlessly chic.  And what's with that hair? Gwen can rock a futuristic 'do (well, barely); Miley cannot.

Rita Ora in Alexandre Vauthier Couture: I always love a dramatic dress; however, this is just too much. The icy blue is too much, the feathered train is too much--make it stop! Rita Ora has always been a trendsetter, but this is a classic example of "having a dress wear you." A shorter hemline would've made the world's difference.

Lil' Kim: We're never going to see Lil' Kim in something stylish or tasteful, but this is especially horrendous. Bumble bee gone bad? I think so! And what's up with that baby pink lip? How is it supposed to work into this otherwise vampy ensemble? I'm open to any and all explanations.

Willow and Jaden Smith in Gant and Alexander Wang, Respectively: How adorable: Will Smith's kids are sporting his old Fresh Prince of Bel Air threads. Wait, they're not? Awkward. I'm always for creating a fashion statement, but this is just confusing and sloppy.

Erin Wasson in Alexandre Vauthier: I love an editorial look as much as the next fashionista, yet this is just way too much for the red carpet. It doesn't matter how fabulously fit you may be because wearing tulle and only tulle is never a good idea.  As for the headband, it's simply not award show-approved.

The Best.

Mary Lambert: Not only does she has the voice of an angel, Lambert is an expert at dressing for her body. Let's be honest: wearing a completely sequined dress is hard. With a cinched waist and modest v-neck, Lambert looks absolutely beautiful. The swept back hair is an effortless way to complete this look while the super-long pendant gives this look a dash of sex appeal.

Selena Gomez in Atelier Versace: Say what you will about this look-- the dress is too older for Gomez,  the hair isn't right, etc-- but I think this look is perfect as is. First of all, this couture dress is ideal for the VMAs: it's classy yet funky enough to wear to musical event. If the Spring Breakers star confined her hair to a sleek ponytail, this whole look would've been to severe. A relaxed down do' is a lovely alternative, plus the emerald earrings gorgeously blend into the whole outfit.

Naya Rivera in Vintage Paco Rabanne: Unlike her flop at the Teen Choice Awards, this is how to show off some skin with class.Here, the Glee star is a seductive Morticia Addams-- in the best way possible. The drama the long locks and defined liner create is inspired. J'adore.

Holland Roden in Naeem Khan: Dramatic in the most unexpected way. this regal ensemble is funky enough for the Video Music Awards. Instead of sporting leather or sexy cut-outs, Roden pumped up the volume in this high-octane number. Though I'm not a fan of the pants-skirt duo, the VMAs is the place is don this crazy trend. The berry lip is the perfect way to make a fierce (yet feminine) statement.

Allison Williams in Valentino: This outfit didn't turn heads on Sunday night; however, I love it. Since the Girls actress was only presenting, a subtly chic dress is an appropriate decision. Williams's messy updo complements the gorgeous details on this Valentino frock. Brava!

Ciara in Givenchy Couture: It's the couture collection that keeps on giving. Beyonce rocked an alternative to this dress at the 2012 Met Gala  while Florence Welch adores very similar Givenchy numbers. But on Ciara? This is pure heaven. Dresses from this Givenchy collection can look very ethereal; however, Ciara has this certain attitude that makes the whole ensemble undeniably glamorous. Not only is this gown a perfect fit, Ciara cleverly finishes this look with beachy waves and a fresh, summery face.

Lady Gaga in Prabal Gurung: Cue the sigh of relief: Lady Gaga doesn't have to wear a meat dress to steal the sartorial spotlight. Sure, this Prabal Gurung number is quirky; however, it proves that Gaga can sport mainstream clothes while boasting her avant garde aesthetic. As for the star's beauty regime, her jet-black hair adds an extra dash of drama.

Joan Smalls in the Viktor+ Rolf: Smalls looks more like a gladiator than a model, but in a good way.The shapeless Viktor + Rolf is a blank canvas, which is wonderful  for boasting the gold statement jacket and tall gladiator heels. Same goes for the beauty front: the sleek mane contrasts that sophisticated berry lip. Love!

The Style Files: I'm Tired of Seein' the Days Goin' by, Tearin' the Numbers Off My Wall

So you know when you randomly find a band and you really like them? Yeah, that happened to me this week. To quickly sum it up, The Lemonheads are awesome: very chill music.

STYLE SPIRATION: Sarah Hyland

Do you guys remember that whole Sarah Hyland slash Lea Michele debacle on Fashion Police? Well I do and let me just  say that I'm so team Sarah. Not only is she super funny, but Hyland is a fabulous fashionista herself. So this week's style-spiration is dedicated to Sarah Hyland.

At the Latest Harry Potter Movie Premiere (Paule Ka): Gorgeous! The all-black ensemble is super chic and the metallic clutch adds the perfect "wow" factor. The fun ponytail perfectly contrasts Hyland's smoky eye. Obsessed. 

At the 2011 SAG Awards (Max Mara Elegante): This look is super youthful and laid back, which I love. The casual waves, mixed with the draping of the orange dress, is supreme. Keeping the makeup fresh, as well as having minimal jewels, is perfection. (Photo Cred)

At the Glee 3D Premiere (Nuj Novakhett): I'm obsessed with this look! Usually, I get skeptical when I see a cut-out dress;however, this look incredible on her. The dress is gorgeous and the light shoes and clutch makes this look summery. The natural makeup and braid gives this look a youthful twist.

THE WEEKLY

• Gaga at the Gaga Pop-Up Store in Barneys (Chanel): This so extravagant-almost too extravagant- but I love it. In my mind, this is the perfect mix of Jackie O and Lady Gaga. The contrast between black and white is so classic. Also, I'm so smitten with her use of accessories. The red lip:  need I say more?  I love how she can be her crazy self without pushing the envelope too far.
• Fergie at the Black Eyed Peas Experience Launch Party (Jen Kao skirt and an Ellery jacket): I'm not obsessed with this look; however, I think it was styled very well.  The textured skirt and the tribal-inspired earrings are perfectly styled with the black ensemble. The sleek ponytail and the strong blazer adds a dash of sexy.

Red Carpet Galore!

There have been a lot of award show lately, like the Bambi Awards...what. Clearly, I haven't been on my A-Game in terms of red carpet reporting so get ready for a quick crash course!  Allow me to give you lovely people the best of the best. And the worst of the worst. You're welcome.

THE WORST 

Taylor Swift at the Country Music Awards (J.Mendel): I'M SO BORED WITH HER IT'S BORDERLINE UNBEARABLE. At this point, I can tell you what she's going to wear: something girly from J.Mendel or maybe a pop of color from Jenny Packham. Once every blue moon, she may even wear Elie Saab, but that's a BIG maybe. Being boring is probably the biggest fashion faux pas ever. Even when people dress poorly, they're trying! They had a vision, it just failed miserably.You're a superstar, Tay Tay,  so dress like it. (Photo Cred)

Alejandra Guzman at the Latin Grammy Awards (I Don't Want to Know): I think this dress speaks for itself.  There are really no words to describe how terrible this is.(Photo Cred)

Leanne Rimes at the CMA (Badgley Mischka): As much as I love Badgley Mischka, I hate this look. The superfluous amount of frill makes her appear even skinnier, which scares me. The hair is way too casual and makes it look like she slipped on the dress and left. It just looks awkward. To top it all off, that's a pretty awkward pose.  (Photo Cred)

Laura-Bell Bundy at the CMA (A Trailer Park, apparently): Serious question: why would anyone EVER wear this? She looks so trashy or as if she just came from the circus. Her hair looks really good, but I'm so angry about this look. Seriously, is this a publicity stunt or does she really have no idea how to dress? (Photo Cred)

D'manti at the Latin Grammys (No designer will confess to  making this): I love a good mullet silhouette every now and then. This, however, is too much. Too much of EVERYTHING. Those awkward bunches of fabric aren't flattering, that shirt makes me uncomfortable, and who needs a train that's THAT long? She doesn't.  (Photo Cred)

Shakira at Latin Grammys (Nobody ever knows who designed the unfortunate looks for a reason): This reminds me of Sherri Hill prom dresses, which I despise with a burning passion of a thousand suns. It's just not chic and too flashy. She's so pretty! Why would she wear something so tacky? I just don't understand.  ((Photo Cred)

Selena Gomez at the MTV European Music Awards (Marchesa): I actually like this dress; however, the styling  scares me. Doesn't  this look-  especially the ponytail and pink clutch- remind you of the Lolita trend? I'm all for letting your fashion freak flag fly, but that trend just makes me feel uncomfortable. (Photo Cred)

THE BEST 

Jenny from the Block at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards (Versace): Marc Anthony who? No really. She looks stunning! The nude look works so well with the floral applique. The body-hugging silhouette complements the applique instead of making her seem awkward and bulging.  That sexy slit says "look at me" without being trashy. Also, that hair and makeup? Flawless. Literally. Flawless. This is a homerun- my only reference to sports in this blog whole- in my book! (Photo Cred)

Indie Lee at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards (Dolce and Gabbana): As my absolute FAVORITE skin care guru-slash-mentor in the whole wide world, how could I not include her fashion win? Indie looks super sophisticated and fierce in this leopard Dolce and Gabbana dress. I love this dress on Indie because she looks like a modern-day pinup girl, which never goes out of style.  The unexpected pop of color really spices up this outfit and allows the leopard to act as a neutral. Anyone who can make leopard act as a neutral is a winner. Minimal jewels and the tan shoes is a super smart move because we're not overwhelmed by too many bold elements. FABULOUS. (Photo Cred)

 

Lea Michele at- surprise- the Glamour Women of the Year Awards (Jenny Packham): I have a very rational beefage with Lea Michele, which dates back to her days in Spring Awakening. However, she looks absolutely stunning here. This dress, especially coupled with the soft waves, gives off such an old-school glamour look that I'm obsessed with. Also, I love me a bright lip so this is perfection. Keeping the amount of jewels on a low is appropriate, since the dress is quite extravagant on it's own. Lovely! (Photo Cred)

Emma Stone at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards (Lanvin): Remember when I said that Emma Stone always looks super chic and cool? Yeah, I wasn't lying. I love the this look on her so much: it's like a chic Greek goddess. Super cool.  The dress' color, which would look awkward on most, actually makes her glow: it looks fabulous with her red hair! The draping and the long necklaces make this look effortlessly cool. And can we talk about those shoes? Awesome. I also love the wavy updo: a casual chic hairstyle. SO GOOD.  (Photo Cred)

Sofia Vergara at the Latin Grammys (Reem Acra): She looks absolutely heavenly. The silhouette of this dress is flattering; however, it's not as sultry as most of her outfits usually are. I like the change: I think she looks classier! The intricate beading- or at least I think it's beading- works so well with those uber glam hoop earrings. As always, her hair and makeup is top notch. Lady Gaga at the Bambi Awards (Alexander McQueen): So you probably think that I'm a craze, but I have an unconditional love for McQueen. IRL- in real life if you're not tehy savvy - this collection was mind-blowing. Don't hate, appreciate the beautiful craftmanship. (Photo Cred)

The Style Files: We Will Live Like Kings Under Lavender

When I went to see Matt Nathanson in concert a couple weeks ago, I was surprised to find out that Vanessa Carlton was the opening act. From "A Thousand Miles" to "White Houses," Carlton defines my childhood. I thought that she fell off the face of the earth until she sang one of  her latest songs, "I Don't Want to Be a Bride." There's something very ethereal and hauntingly beautiful about this song that I love.

STYLE SPIRATION: EMMA STONE

In my opinion, Emma Stone and Mila Kunis are the two coolest girls in Hollywood. Sorry Mila, but I'm focusing this Style Spiration on Emma Stone. The best part about Stone's recent looks is that she wears a lot of fashion-forward ensembles; however, she still looks super cool. How does she do it? I don't know. But let's just take a peak at some of my favorite Emma Stone looks, shall we?

Stone at The Help premiere Hamburg (Lanvin): This is such a stunning ensemble, I'm pretty much obsessed. The teal and mustard color combination is striking; however, not too over the top. Since the color combination is the primary focus of this look, I'm glad the dress' silhouette is rather simple. As always, the hair and makeup is gorgeous.(Photo Cred)

At The Help premiere in L.A. (Chanel Haute Couture): This ensemble is both edgy and classic. I think it's a very unconventional look to wear; however, it does give a nod to the 1920's, which I love. Her makeup is extremely summery , which is out of season now but okay back then. Even though this dress isn't extremely youthful, she looks like the coolest girl at the party! (Photo Cred)

At the 2011 Golden Globes Awards (Calvin Klein): So I know that I didn't like this dress at the time of the Golden Globes, but times change. I'm never going to be a fan of minimalism; however, I must say that her look is refreshing and undeniably chic. The peach is a very unconventional color, but she totally pulls it off. The simplicity of the drop earrings creates the perfect amount of dash to this look.  Also, this is probably the best makeup I've seen on Emma Stone. Lovely! (Photo Cred)

THE WEEKLY

• Gaga in London (Michael Kors): I know what you're thinking: this is such a weird look to love. But for some reason I do. It's very sixties glamour, which I'm obsessed with. In an odd way, this look is both wearable and chic. An essentially monochromatic ensemble is perfect for this look, since that jacket is quite extravagant. The hair and makeup is also uber glam. Adding the super psychedelic accessories-like the sunglasses- gives this outfit a healthy dash of Gaga.
• Noomi Rapace at the Rome Film Festival premiere of Baby Call (Giambattista Valli): There's something beautifully simple about this look that I love. Usually, I never love red dress with a red lip on a red carpet; however, this look is undeniably glamourous. The dress' straight silhouette- in addition to the subtle draping- works beautifully with the asymmetrical neckline: the neckline adds an appropriate amount of  drama to such a simple dress. The red lip gives a pinch of timeless glamour. The edgy bracelet and clutch, on the other hand, makes this look current.

The Style Files: Perfection of Your Face Slows Me Down

So this week, my friends- especially my roommie- and I have been going CRAZY over Maroon 5. Specifically, "Never Gonna Leave This Bed." I'm borderline obsessed with the music video for three reasons:

1. Adam Levine is gorgeous.
2. The concept is adorable.
3. I love Wayfrarers on guys...yes that is one of my reasons.

STYLE-SPIRATION: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

Recently, I've developed this theory that Justin Timberlake is the most perfect person...ever. Don't believe me? Well let's look at the facts: he's beautiful, 6'1 (according to my findings), can sing, can dance, can act, is extremely funny and successful. Did I mention he also has a killer sense of style. Yes ladies and gent, I'm continuing this boy crazy extravaganza with J.T. as this week's style-spiration. 

J.T. at the WilliamRast Spring 2007 RTW Show. Call me old fashion, but I cannot resist a guy in a sweater vest. Unless it's an old man who looks like he's up to no good.  I love how J.T. used the sweater vest a neutral and experiment with different patterns, as seen in the tie and button-down. While I'm not loving the vans, I love how Justin is never afraid to experiment with clothes. He is my dream man. (Photo Cred)

J.T at Cartier's 100th Anniversary. He looks...SO GOOD. I love this three piece suit: it's so classic, but edgy with his subtle scruff. The combination of grey and black makes this look funky and sophisticated. Ugh. Why can't I marry him? (Photo Cred)

 J.T. at the 2009 Met Ball in WilliamRast. HE EVEN DOES A FORMAL TUX BETTER THAN ANY GUY. SERIOUSLY, WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?! The bow tie- lapel proportions are spot on and he looks uberchic. Those glasses make him look intellectual and trendy. Only man who reads this blog, listen up: THICK RIMMED GLASSES ARE A STYLE DO. I'm so glad he broke up with Jessica Biel. (Photo Cred)

THE WEEKLY

• Rachel Zoe at the Christian Dior show (I'm assuming Dior):  This look is perfect for Paris Fashion Week. The black and white is so flawlessly chic. While the white dress is pretty plain; however, the maxi factor, as well as the belt, gives the look some drama. And those sunglasses? Amazing. Haters gon' hate, but I idolize her.
• Lady Gaga at iHeartRadio (I want to know): I'm literally obsessed with this look, even though it's not very Gaga-esque. The costume jewels as well as the silhouette of this outfit make the look creative enough for Lady Gaga to wear. She looks so glamourous and chic. 
• Leighton Meester at Dior also (I'm assuming Dior as well): LOVE LOVE LOVE this LWD. The tiers on the dress make this look really girly; however, the pumps gave this look some edge. Her hair and makeup? So feminine and beautiful. I love this look.
• Miranda Kerr chilling in Paris (I don't have ay designers for this blog post): This is perfect Parisian street style. The toughness of the leather skirt and the softness of the shirt is the PERFECT juxtaposition. Her makeup is clean and feminine. This look is simple and all around glam.

Which Came First: The Egg or The Gaga

I think out of all of the award shows, the Grammys are my least favorite; I like my own kind of music not so much Top 40 hits. However, the Grammy's fashion is superb. It's so weird and really makes you think, which I love. It was hard to narrow it down, because the Grammy's don't have any strict fashion rules,  but I think I got a pretty solid list going on here. So without a moment to spare, let us discuss the best and worst, shall we?

THE WORST:

• Ciara (Pucci): I think it looked good on her and definitely Grammy appropriate, I just really didn't like it. There needed to be more fabric and less slit. The fabrics were also really weird put together, I thought. Usually I really like Pucci, but this wasn't my favorite.
• Crystal Bowersox (Nobody knows who made this so far): Gross. No matter what, dreads will NEVER EVER EVER be a trend in my eyes. Do something nice with your hair, girl-who-I-do-not-know, this is the Grammys! As much as I love emerald green, it made her look rather old and chunky. The fabric is also pretty wrinkled, not okay.
• Gaga (Farm): For real? Yeah, Gaga's a pretty cool individual but this is getting annoying now. She's not being a human, but a spectacle. It's just really really old now. If I wanted to see this, I'd watch the History channel.
• Jennifer Lopez (Pucci): Her hair is fab, her shirt is not, I love the sparkles, but why is she looking like a Jenny from the Sketchy Street Corner. FIX YOUR HEM. Thumbs down, JLO, you should've known better.
• Kim Kardashian (KaufmanFranco): Kim, don't pretend that you're old school Jennifer Lopez. I hate this so much.  This looks so trashy and it's not even flattering! Her hair and makeup, however, looks really good. But it gets overshadowed by the stupid sparkly sac.
• Natasha Bedingfield (Something blue...nobody knows): This is extremely cheesy; very Miss America, in my mind. She looked a million times better at the pre-Grammy awards, why couldn't she swap?!

THE BEST:

• Keri Hilson (Basil Soda): Perfect for the Grammy Awards! She seriously hit the nail on the head with this one. Her blonde do looks so smashing with this bright blue mini. Bringing a splash of color to the red carpet, as well as that asymmetrical neckline. I kind of wish that the shoes were different, but she kept it classy and cool for this red carpet, BRAVO! 
• Nicole Kidman (Jean Paul Gaultier): So smitten with this look. Obviously, we don't expect Nicole Kidman to be carried in an egg,but she looked remarkable. The colors went beautifully with her complexion and ever so flattering. I think it was the perfect amount of cool for the Grammy Awards, in terms of Nicole Kidman that is.
• Lea Michele (Pucci): The lips are a bit harsh, but she still looks fabulous. I love how this is the anti-LBD: the slit is hypnotic and the lace is super super cool.  She kept the hair down which, in any other situation, would be kind of awkward worked for the Grammy awards. I'm glad she didn't try to incorporate a splash of color with the shoes; the dress had the perfect amount of "wow" to be chic.
• Florence Welch (Givenchy): I think this is one of the only times in history where I like this look significantly better on the red carpet than the runway. On the model, it looked really scary; however, Welch makes it so fun and ethereal. The no accessories was a good move, though: it would've been way too forced with out it.  Heaven on a runway.
• Jennifer Hudson (Versace): I'm really upset that she lost so much waste; I personally feel like she sold out and was ashamed of her curves which is INSANE. Anywho, she looks incredible in this Versace. The glitz, the navy and silver, the mullet hem- everything I love in a dress. This definitely is my favorite of the night. She looks rocker, but extremely put together. And the chunky Louboutins mimic the lines of the bodice of her dress. She's doing me proud.

The Weekly: What'chya Gonna Do When They Come For You

and we loved it.

• Kim Kardashian at a holiday party (Tadashi Shoji): LOVE. The metallics are so holiday chic and the asymmetrical shoulder is so in right now. I love how the metallics are different tones, separated by a black belt or else she would have looked very Vegas-drag-glam (not that there's anything wrong with that, just not for a holiday event). Her matte accessories are smartly paired with this dress and the fit is impeccable. I think sometimes, Kim wants to be sexy but forgets that a flattering piece matters more. In this case, this dress is both fabulous and flattering on her.
• Diane Lane at a LA Pres Conference (unknown designer): SO AGE APPROPRIATE! She looks so classy and chic. Even though it's a bit minimal, sometimes that works better for someone who is older. The blue looks absolutely incredible with her dark hair and matching her dress with cream points is great. She looks smart and fashionable at the same time!
• Lady Gaga at the Consumer Electronics Show (Sally LaPointe): As we all know, Lady Gaga is...an interesting fashion icon. Even though it seems like this outfit is more oppressed than her others, I think she looks absolutely fabulous. Long skirts, I think, should make a come-back. They're classier than minnies  and undoubtedly chic. Anyways, she pulls off this long skirt well ad the jacket creates an interesting silhouette. She looks very, dare I say it, normal? But the veil gives it enough Gaga to make this look chic and unique.

Biggest Mess Award.

Yesterday, I was laughing uncontrollably with my mom because, after calling for me a plethora of times, I finally responded to something that was not my name: Kesha. I find it so funny because I am nothing like the unworthy popstar. I'm sorry if anyone who reads this is obsessed with Kesha...but she's the biggest mess currently on the planet. Brushing your teeth with a bottle of Jack? You have a problem. But then I was thinking about her outfits and I can't express my hatred. Of course, I will try in this blog post. Way back at the 2010 Grammy Awards, she looked like a drunken Native American in that disgusting fringe dress (and I usually like fringe). There are some fashion forward elements that she incorporates into her outfits- fur, fringe, and sparkles- but she wears them wrong, even though fashion doesn't have a rule book set in stone. So if there are in fact no rules, how can she mess it up so badly? Consequently, Kesha, you proudly win the biggest mess award. I almost feel like she's a Gaga wannabe, which is almost shameful. She wears skeevy zebra unitards (please look above...if you dare), but it just looks so bad. Gaga can do it right because, as unique as she is, she is not messy. Also, she exudes confidence. Kesha exudes a bad hangover...THAT WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER END. It's not even mess, it's more like dirt and grime. It's gross. And she's even carrying her OWN disco-stick around?!? TOO MUCH, KESHA. Although fashion essentially has no rules,I think there are two things that's just common sense: confidence and cleanliness.Keep those two in mind, when you wake up feeling like P.Diddy, and maybe you'll get it right one day.

Not Gonna Reach My Telephone!

While me and my friend, Emily aka cutluvandprosper.blogger.com ,were shopping until we literally dropped in London, we saw simply one of the coolest window displays. There, right in front of us, was Lady Gaga and Beyonce-esque mannequins dressed in their "Telephone" in the window of Bershka. I do believe that window displays are completely important: they show us what to expect when we enter their store. I mean, isn't it the window displays in Saks Fifth Avenue that excite us every Christmas? Everyone has flipped through Vogue or Harper's Bazaar, wishing they could emulate the fabulous cover girl or pull off a

certain trend seamlessly. But there's one

problem: you have no idea how to begin! Window displays are the perfect antidote for this problem! They say "home hither, I'll solve your fashion problems". Although Bershka has a Spanish origin, they target clothing at all fashionable teenagers. Emily and I had been to many places to shop: Brick Lane,Selfridges, TOPSHOP (my absolute favorite),and other random stores. We passed this store a plethora of times, completely ignoring its existence. The only reason we went in was because of the window display. Having just seen "Telephone" in it's entirity, I was intrigued to enter Bershka. Could I purchase all of these outfits, somehow transform my hair into Gaga's crazy locks, and poison a whole diner?! Unfortunately, that didn't happen, but I think this window display was genius on Bershka. Love her or hate her, I personally love because she's embracing originality, Lady Gaga is one of the hottest celebrities and fashion icons of our newborn decade. And "Telephone" is so hot right now; it's currently the number one downloaded music video on iTunes. Although I absolutely love all window displays because of their artistic quality and originality, this is my absolute favorite! It added both pop culture and fashion together. All of the other window displays are strictly fashion with a concept, but I think it's important to add a whimsical fashion world into reality. Now if you all excuse me, I'm going to listen to some Lady Gaga now!
